Is the combat difficult?

No. You fight one Level 37 Sourhog. It's weak to stab and ranged attacks. Basic combat gear is sufficient. Spria provides goggles to negate its main acid attack mechanic.

What are the main benefits of this quest?

It serves as an introduction to the Slayer skill, unlocks the Slayer master Spria in Draynor Village, grants access to the Sourhog Cave and Sourhog tasks, gives Slayer XP and reward points, and upgrades existing Slayer helms with goggles.

Yes, easily. A rope can be bought from Ned in Draynor, and a knife/bronze scimitar spawns inside the quest cave if needed.
