How long does Enter the Abyss take?

It's a very short miniquest, usually taking only 5-10 minutes. It involves talking to the Mage of Zamorak and visiting the Rune Essence mines via three different wizards.

Are there any requirements to start Enter the Abyss?

Yes, you must have completed the Rune Mysteries quest.

What items are needed?

No items are strictly required. However, teleports to Varrock, Wizards' Tower (DIS fairy ring or Necklace of Passage), and East Ardougne are highly recommended to speed up the process. The Scrying orb is given to you during the quest.

Is Enter the Abyss dangerous?

The miniquest starts by talking to the Mage of Zamorak in level 4-7 Wilderness, so there is a small risk from player killers. The rest of the miniquest is entirely safe.

What is the Abyss?

The Abyss is a dangerous pocket dimension accessed via the Mage of Zamorak in the Wilderness or through the fairy ring network (code ALR). It contains rifts that act as shortcuts to all Runecrafting altars but is filled with aggressive, high-level Abyssal creatures.

What is the Small Pouch?

It's the first tier of Runecrafting essence pouch, allowing you to carry an extra 3 rune or pure essence per trip. You receive it upon completing this miniquest.

Can Ironmen use this service?

Yes, absolutely. There are no item requirements, and Rune Mysteries is a prerequisite for most accounts anyway.
