It's a short Novice quest, typically taking 20-30 minutes. It mainly involves travelling to different locations to kill 8 specific low-level monsters.

What are the requirements for Rag and Bone Man I?

There are no skill or quest requirements to start this quest.

What items are needed?

You need 8 Pots, 8 Jugs of Vinegar (bought from Fortunato in Draynor Village after asking him about it), 8 Logs (any type), a Tinderbox, and a Light source (lantern preferred for Lumbridge Swamp Caves). An axe can be used instead of bringing logs. Basic combat gear is needed.

Is the combat difficult?

No. You need to kill 8 specific, relatively low-level monsters (Giant rat, Unicorn, Bear, Ram, Goblin, Big frog, Monkey, Giant bat). Their specific bone drops are guaranteed.

What is the point of this quest?

It provides small amounts of Cooking and Prayer XP and is a required prerequisite for Rag and Bone Man II, which offers significantly more Prayer XP.

How do I polish the bones?

Use a Jug of Vinegar on a Pot, then use the specific bone on the Pot of Vinegar. Repeat for all 8 bones. Then, use Logs on the pot-boiler near the Odd Old Man, use the 'bone in vinegar' pot on the boiler, and light it with a Tinderbox. Wait 12 seconds (or hop worlds) for it to finish.

Can Ironmen use this service?

Yes, easily. All required items are obtainable; vinegar must be purchased, pots can be crafted or bought, logs cut, and monsters killed.
