About The Golem

The Golem quest begins in the ruins of Uzer, east of Shantay Pass. You offer to repair a damaged Clay Golem, who then reveals its purpose: to destroy the demon Thammaron. To help, you investigate the nearby temple ruins, finding a Letter, Black mushroom, and Strange implement. The letter leads you to Elissa at the Digsite, who directs you to Varmen's notes in the Exam Centre. Following the notes, you acquire a Statuette from the Varrock Museum by pickpocketing Curator Haig Halen for a key. Returning to the Uzer temple, you use the statuette to solve a statue puzzle, opening the demon's lair only to find Thammaron already dead. To convince the golem, you craft a new Golem program using Black mushroom ink (mushroom + pestle/mortar + vial), a Phoenix quill pen (feather + ink), and Papyrus, then use the Strange implement and program on the golem.

How long does The Golem take?

Approximately 15-25 minutes. It involves travel between the desert, Digsite, and Varrock, along with item gathering and puzzle solving.

What items are needed?

Vial, Pestle and mortar, Papyrus, 4 Soft clay, Phoenix feather, Shantay pass (or other desert access). You'll obtain the Strange implement, Letter, Varmen's notes, Display cabinet key, and Statuette during the quest. Soft clay can be mined (with Bracelet of clay or water source) and Phoenix feathers found near Uzer if not brought.

Is there any combat?

No, this quest does not require any combat.

Can the skill requirements be boosted?

Yes, the 20 Crafting and 25 Thieving skill levels required for specific actions within the quest can be boosted.

How do I get the gems mentioned in rewards?

After finding the demon dead in its lair, you can optionally use a Chisel and Hammer on the throne to receive 2 cut rubies, 2 cut emeralds, and 2 cut sapphires.

Can Ironmen use this service?
