About The Hand in the Sand
The Hand in the Sand begins when Bert, the Yanille sandpit worker, finds a severed hand. You agree to investigate. After showing the hand to the drunken Guard Captain in the Yanille Inn (requiring a beer), you consult Wizard Zavistic Rarve at the Wizards' Guild, who identifies it as belonging to his student, Clarence. You investigate Bert's employer, Sandy, in Brimhaven, comparing work rotas and discovering discrepancies. You then visit Betty in Port Sarim to craft a truth serum (requiring redberries, white berries, an empty vial, and a lantern lens, plus sand pickpocketed from Sandy). Distracting Sandy, you spike his coffee with the serum and use a magical orb (from Zavistic) to record his confession: he magically altered Bert's memory to exploit him, then murdered Clarence. Reporting back to Zavistic, he asks for earth runes and sand to enchant Bert's pit for infinite sand. Finally, you retrieve Clarence's head from Mazion on Entrana and return it to Zavistic.
