Contact! is a members' quest continuing the desert storyline after Icthlarin's Little Helper. High Priest Osman in Al Kharid asks you to investigate the plight of Sophanem, which is sealed off due to a plague. You sneak into the city, speak with the High Priest of Sophanem, navigate the dangerous Tombs of Sophanem (solving light bridge puzzles and fighting monsters), and ultimately defeat a Giant Scarab (Level 98) boss controlled by the Menaphites. Success re-establishes contact and fully opens Sophanem.

How long does Contact! take?

It typically takes 45-60 minutes due to navigating the Sophanem dungeon, solving light puzzles, and the boss fight.

What items are needed?

You need combat gear suitable for fighting Locust Riders (Level 74), Scarab Mages (Level 74), and the Giant Scarab boss (Level 98). Food, potions (combat, prayer, antidote recommended), a light source, and potentially desert clothing/waterskins are required. Our service requires you provide combat gear/supplies.

How hard is the combat?

The dungeon monsters can hit reasonably hard, and the Giant Scarab (Level 98) boss requires decent combat stats and gear. Protect from Melee is highly recommended for the boss.

What is the Keris dagger?

It's a dagger rewarded from the quest that deals 33% bonus damage against Kalphites and Scarabites, making it very useful for tasks involving these monsters.

Why is Sophanem access useful?

It provides a convenient bank and altar close to pyramid plunder, is required for Beneath Cursed Sands (Tombs of Amascut prerequisite), and features in various clue steps.

Can Ironmen use this service?

Yes, but Ironmen must provide all their own combat gear, food, potions, and supplies. We handle the quest steps, puzzles, and combat.
