In Getting Ahead, Gordon and Mary, farmers south of the Farming Guild, are losing livestock to a mysterious beast. You agree to help track it down. Following Mary's suggestion, you use flour to create a trail leading to a cave in the Kebos Lowlands mine. Inside, you defeat the Headless Beast (Level 82). Unable to retrieve its actual head, you return and, at Mary's suggestion, craft a convincing fake head using clay, fur, and red dye. After fooling Gordon, you mount the fake head in their house to complete the quest.

How long does Getting Ahead take?

What items are *essential* to start?

Technically none, as all required tools (Hammer, Saw, Knife, Needle, Thread) and materials (Clay/Pickaxe, Planks, Nails, Fur, Dye, Flour) can be obtained during the quest near the farm or cave. However, having combat gear for the Level 82 boss is necessary.

How hard is the Headless Beast?

It's Level 82 and uses Melee. It has a special rockfall attack that can be dodged. It can be safespotted around a pond in its lair, making the fight much easier. Manageable with decent mid-level combat stats (~Level 45 recommended).

Are the skill requirements boostable?

No, the OSRS Wiki text explicitly states the 30 Crafting and 26 Construction requirements are *not* boostable and are required to start the quest.

What does Mary's tanning service offer?
